LAWN PAVILION LOUNGE: DJ BOB JAZZ CLUB
Sunday 24 May
NIROX Sculpture Park
As autumn draws to a close, DJ Bob and Bubbles return to the Lawn Pavilion, delivering a curated selection of jazz, afro funk, salsa, nu jazz and spiritual Chicago blends to carry the afternoon.
DJ Bob and Bubbles have been working together since the early 2000s when they started sharing decks and records in Pretoria. Since then, they spent many an OppiKoppi festival together, played Black Labone countless times and shared gigs from Maputo to Cape Town, all while becoming a fixture at Bushfire Festival for many years.
Bubbles is a long standing veteran of DJ Bob Jazz Club and has helped to shape the sounds and lineups we all love. Both DJ's are guided by a love for Funk, Jazz and African music, yet they have developed their own signature style over the years, and it is the combination of these sounds that makes them a joy to experience together.
Join them for a special back-to-back session as they prepare for their yearly road trip to Eswatini that same week. Expect a lot of Jazz for this one, blended with Afro Funk, Salsa, Spiritual Chicago sounds, Nu Jazz, Samba and and other tunes that defy categorisation.
